OVER $400 RAISED FOR SPCA!!
Room 15 and their buddy class Room 14 have been busy. We donated and iced over 400 cupcakes for the SPCA. What fun we had. We learnt about marketing, and how to set up and run a stall and not to mention all the money we had to count.
Look at all our Yummy Designs. We are so clever!
Counting the Cash and making the signs!
Congratulations to Georgia, Maddy, Millan and Denby who won the draw to go for a drive to the SPCA to deliver the cash and petfood that we collected. Oh what a suprise it will be.

Crackle Time!
Our task was to use the electronic scales to measure all the ingredients in grams to make delicious chocolate crackle cakes.
Luke Caysen and Jacob carefully measure out the ingredients. |
It looks like chocolate crackle, smells like a chocolate crackle and boy it tastes like a chocolate crackle! |
Well - guess it tasted great! |
RARO TIME
Our task was to use our measuring skills to make RARO. Some of us had 1/2 a litre and others had to make 1 litre.
Ruben makes sure he has the right ratio.
We soon learnt that if our measuring was wrong then our Raro drink tasted pretty awful.
Some groups came up with some great ways to halve the Raro if they only had a 500 ml container.

BUSY TIMES
Room 15 have been so busy studying all about the Olympics and learning about measurement for maths.
We have made chocolate crackle, weighed chippie packets to to see if they are fair, competed in tug-o-war competitions, and even iced cupcakes to raise money for charity. This is the best way to learn by having fun doing real life stuff!! We hope you enjoy our photos.

PIZZA TIME
Room 15 are studying fractions for Mathematics. We had a brainwave that since we were using Pizzas as an example to learn about fractions what better way to test our understanding but to make pizza and cut it into even pieces.
We were given the task of designing our own pizzas in groups. We had to decide what ingredients we needed and write our own recipes. We gave our pizzas fancy names and set about cooking them.
We learnt many life lessons.
1) You have to co-operate to work in a team.
2) You have to compromise to make sure everyone is happy.
3) Fractions have to been even - or people will complain!
4) Marshmallows, chocolate and lollies make a jolly good pizza!
