Marmite Madness!

It's official - theres a marmite shortage.  But do you care?  Are you a vegemite lover or a marmite lover?  Or do you not like either?  Mrs R loves marmite..... thanks to a special class member she now has a jar of her own black gold to help her get through the next five months.... It would have been a bit scary if she didn't get her marmite on toast!  See the newspaper article above.

HIWI THE KIWI

We had visit from The Minstral and Hiwi the Kiwi today.  He was just so funny and an amazing musician. He taught us about marine reserves and how to be responsible when boating and fishing.

Place Value Champ

We are learning about place value in Mathematics.  Click on the link to the right to play a simple game to test your knowledge of place value.

• We are learning to expand numbers like 1452 is 1000+400+50+2

• We are also learning the place value of numbers eg the Value of the underlined number.  342 is 40 and it is in the tens place.  Can you practise at home?

Email your best holiday snapshot for 2011/2012 and we will share them in class and the best 3 will go on the blog.  You must reduce the size of the photo and send it as a JPEG  often you can just right click on your photo, click on 'send as' (or send to)  and select email and you should have the option to make it smaller in order to email it.  Have a go.  I look forward to seeing them.  Here's my favourite holiday snap...

Welcome Back!!

Welcome Back to School and to 2012.  Didn't the holiday go fast.  Not to sure about the weather though!  My photo is of the ducks having fun at my tent door when I was camping at Oakura.  We were lucky because other than a muddy start we had a week of sunshine.  Can't wait to see all of your smiley faces on Monday 30th.  Don't forgot your togs and your pens and pencils.  Make sure they are all clearly named.  Remember I have your hats, but you need your own sunscreen.  Thanks to those students who have already sent me emails to tell me about their holidays.  I love it.  3 more sleep ins to go.... see you real soon!  Mrs R
